UC Merced openned it's door's in Fall of 2005. The vast majority of the students were from California, and lived on campus for a year, thus creating a small but tight-knit community that resembles a small private liberal art college. This phenomenon can make it difficult for new transfer students to feel at ease. The following points well help you integrate into the UC Merced Community:
Engage in campus clubs and orginizations that fit your intrests. You can see some Clubs and Student Organizations here
GetIf you have an interest that is not reflected in any of the clubs already established on campus, start one! Meet with someone from the Office of Student Life, they can help you create your club!
Get involved with research with one of your professors. You You will also work closely with other students who have similar interests.
